Lake George Students Hit The Ice

Lake George Jr.-Sr. High School partnered with the Town of Lake George for a day of winter excitement with the new offering of public ice skating in the village. Students were honored with an exclusive invitation to be among the first to skate on the new rink. Excited to be part of this community initiative, students eagerly took to the ice, enjoying the thrill of skating.

“When Mayor Perry extended an invitation to partner on an ice skating opportunity for our students, Mr. Luthringer and I were delighted to accept,” said Francis Cocozza, Principal of Lake George Jr.-Sr. High School . “Our Physical Education teachers, Mr. Kyle Manny and Ms. Kelly Collins, shared our enthusiasm for this unique experience. We are pleased to offer the Village of Lake George a ‘soft opening’ for the new ice rink while providing our students with this valuable opportunity.”

Starting this week, the outdoor rink will be open to the public, offering a festive winter activity for residents and visitors alike. The rink will be open on Thursdays and Fridays from 4-8 PM, Saturdays from 12-8 PM, Sundays from 12-6 PM, and on vacation days from 12-8 PM, weather permitting.

Skate rentals will be available for a fee of $5. However, those who bring their own skates can enjoy the rink for free.

“This is another great activity for people to enjoy in the village with lights in the evening,” said Mayor Ray Perry. The town was able to procure the ice rink through occupancy tax funds, making it possible for the community to enjoy this winter wonderland.
