The Lake George Central School District celebrated a significant step forward with the groundbreaking of its long-awaited new Transportation Facility. Board members joined Superintendent John Luthringer, students, staff, and community members to mark the official start of construction on the district land.

Superintendent Luthringer emphasized the importance of the new facility, stating it was “a truly exciting day” and a project “a long time coming.” He highlighted the inadequacy of the existing bus garage, the original 1953 elementary school, which had become “unsatisfactory” and no longer met the district’s needs.
The new state-of-the-art facility is designed to modernize the transportation department, providing appropriate space for buses, accommodating future electric vehicles, offering a modern repair garage with a new lift, and including a functional wash bay. Luthringer stressed that this investment will improve operational efficiency, ensuring students arrive safely and on time, and provide dedicated training space for drivers.

Industry partners instrumental to the project were on hand for the ceremony, including representatives from Tetra Tech, Garrett Hamlin, Sean O’Brien, Alexandra Barletta, and Mark Bouley; along with School House Construction team members Eric Robert, Steve Adler, and Mick Derway. Luthringer publicly acknowledged their technical expertise and dedication.
The project represents a substantial infrastructure investment for Lake George schools, with district officials stating it will ensure safe and efficient student transportation for generations to come.
