June Staff Spotlight: Mark LaFond

For the past six years, Lake George Central Jr.-Sr. High School has been fortunate to have Mark LaFond serving as our dedicated School Resource Officer. With a background in law enforcement, Mark previously served both Warren County and the city of Schenectady before joining our district.

When he’s not ensuring the safety and security of our school, he can often be found on the golf course, perfecting his swing. Additionally, he loves spending quality time with his son.

Reflecting on his early days in the district, Mark recalls the warm welcome he received. “I remember my first couple of days, how everyone was very welcoming and they were eager to help me find my way. There are a lot of great people here.”

Mark’s commitment to the well-being of our staff extends beyond his daily responsibilities. Last year, he initiated a women’s self-defense class for the staff, aiming to provide a valuable, hands-on skill that could be used in real-life situations.

We are grateful for Mark’s commitment to our district and look forward to many more years of his exemplary service. Thank you, Mark, for all you do!
