Dear Community Members,
Following a series of administrative collaborative meetings and a coaches meeting on February 27, the Lake George, Warrensburg, and Bolton Central School Districts are pleased to share a comprehensive plan for the future of the Wolverine football program. This plan builds upon the merger renewal approved by the Boards of Education in January, the Adirondack League, and by Section 2 on February 13.
Administrators, including Athletic Directors, Principals, and Superintendents from all three districts, have been meeting regularly to develop a shared vision and ensure the long-term sustainability and success of the program. This collaborative effort reinforces the districts’ commitment to providing a positive and enriching experience for all student-athletes.
As part of this ongoing commitment, the districts have undertaken a restructuring of the football program’s coaching structure. This restructuring is designed to align the program with comparable schools in terms of coaching staff levels, student enrollment, and overall program needs. The process also allows for a fresh perspective and the opportunity to cultivate a positive and thriving team culture.
A key component of this plan is the development of a shared mission, vision, and values handbook for the Wolverine football program. This document will serve as a guide for the upcoming coaching hiring process, ensuring that all candidates align with the program’s core principles and goals.
Starting March 3, all coaching positions will be posted, including Head Coach, three Assistant Coaches (JV/Varsity), and two Modified Coaches. All positions will be posted publicly and will be open to all applicants. This open application process reinforces the districts’ commitment to finding qualified individuals to lead the Wolverine football program. The hiring process will include district administrative involvement from all three districts. Interviews for the Head Coach position will begin on March 24. The selected Head Coach will then play a key role in the subsequent interviews for Assistant Coach positions.
The districts are excited about this next chapter for the Wolverine football program and look forward to a successful future. This collaborative approach reflects the commitment of all three districts to providing the best possible athletic experience for their students.
Sincerely
John Luthringer
Lake George Central School District, Superintendent
