Lake George High School Students Gain firsthand Experience in the Legal Field

Lake George High School’s business and law class, led by Mrs. Breslin, gained firsthand experience in the field of law on a field trip to the Warren County Municipal Center. The field trip provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the intricacies of the court system and discover potential career paths within the legal field.

During the visit, students had the privilege of hearing from experienced professionals, including Family Court Judge Ted Wilson and Public Defender Greg Canale. They also gained insight into the role of law enforcement by interacting with the Sheriff’s Department and Officer Pat Mellon.

“This experience truly ignited my passion for law and a career as a lawyer,” said junior Ava Arakelian. “It was inspiring to learn about the diverse range of legal careers and the journeys of those who have pursued them.”

A highlight of the trip was the opportunity to observe a live court trial, allowing students to witness firsthand the concepts they had been studying in class.

Mrs. Bureau, a substitute teacher, volunteered her time to accompany the class and enhance the educational experience. “I am passionate about providing students with real-world experiences that inspire and inform,” she said.

This field trip offered valuable exposure to the legal profession, allowing students to make informed decisions about their future academic and career goals.
