The Lake George Central School District held a successful electric bus demonstration day on Thursday, June 13th. The event aimed to educate district personnel, local first responders, and the community about the benefits and features of electric school buses.
This comes alongside the district’s commitment to providing safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly transportation for students. Voters decided in December 2022 to approve a $13.5 million proposition to construct a new, state-of-the-art transportation facility.

- Summer 2024 – NYSED Review
- Fall/Winter 2024 – Bid
- Spring 2025 – Break Ground
- Fall 2026 – Construction Complete
The electric bus demonstration day offered a learning experience for everyone. Attendees, including district bus drivers, local fire, rescue, and EMS crews, along with members of the school community, gained valuable insights into the safety of electric school buses and the operations of electric buses.
There was also an opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience driving the electric bus firsthand. This hands-on experience provided valuable feedback for the district as they plan for electric bus integration.
“It was great that each of our drivers had a chance to drive the bus,” said Andy Raymond, Director of Transportation for LGCSD. “We’re looking forward to connecting with other districts and seeing the status of electrifying their fleets.”
The electric bus demonstration day was an opportunity for the community to come together and learn about the future of student transportation. The day was filled with informative sessions, hands-on experiences, and safety discussions.
