Lake George Elementary School was thrilled to experience a special visit from two hot air balloon companies, “Above All Balloon Rides” and “A Beautiful Balloon.” This exciting event captivated students and prepared them for the upcoming Adirondack Balloon Festival this weekend.
On Thursday, Scott and Peter Griswold of “Above All Balloon Rides” and Dick and Mary Beth Young of “A Beautiful Balloon” brought their majestic hot air balloons to the grounds of Lake George Elementary School. This exceptional educational opportunity provided students with a unique glimpse into the history and magic of ballooning.
“It was a lot of fun,” said Nora Atkinson, a fifth-grade student at LGES. “I learned a lot of things I never knew before, like how animals went on balloons before people.”
Finley Rubado, a fourth-grade student said, “I really liked the balloons, I didn’t know they would be so loud or so hot when the fire went off.”
This special visit from “Above All Balloon Rides” and “A Beautiful Balloon” truly shows Lake George Elementary School’s commitment to providing enriching and memorable experiences for its students. It also serves as a prelude to the upcoming Adirondack Balloon Festival, where families from near and far can gather to witness the breathtaking spectacle of hot air balloons.
Principal Conway expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Having Scott and Dick here is so exciting. They both did an incredible job teaching our students about the history of ballooning and had them interact with the balloons. This event geared students up for the excitement of the Balloon Festival this weekend.”
